Navigating the High Court of Kerala
A 40-Hour Clinical Course on Practice & Procedure
The Project Complete Lawyer (PCL) Foundation, in proud association with the Legal Aid Clinic of the Government Law College (GLC), Ernakulam, is delighted to announce the launch of a high-impact, 40-hour Clinical Course on the Practice and Jurisdiction of the High Court of Kerala.
This specialized program is exclusively designed for the registered students of GLC, Ernakulam, aiming to bridge the critical gap between academic knowledge and the realities of professional advocacy. The course directly engages with the "unwritten code" of the legal profession, which is the foundational theme of the PCL Foundation’s seminal publication, The Unwritten Conundrum - Cracking An Implicit Code.
We are profoundly honored that the course will be formally inaugurated by Hon'ble Mr. Justice Jayasankaran Nambiar, Judge, High Court of Kerala. For Justice Nambiar, his participation is a cherished homecoming, as he is a distinguished Alumnus of the Government Law College, Ernakulam. His presence highlights the vital judicial emphasis on high-quality, practice-oriented legal training.
Also attending and participating in the inauguration will be the book’s young co-authors, Naomi and Abhinav, who are currently pursuing their third-year LLB at the School of Law, VIT Chennai. They represent the success of PCL’s mentorship model and will share their direct experience of "cracking the implicit code" of the legal profession. This 40-hour module is not a series of lectures, but a clinical immersion designed to make participants fluent in the operational language of the High Court. The objective is to transition students from passively studying constitutional and procedural law to viewing them as actionable tools for effective client representation and court management.
The 40-hour curriculum is designed as a practical immersion program, moving beyond theory to focus on actionable professional skills. Key areas of focus include:
Constitutional Tools: Practical application of Writ Jurisdiction (Article 226) and Supervisory Power (Article 227) as instruments for immediate judicial relief.
Court Infrastructure: Decoding the Roster Grid and the administrative flow of the Registry—essential knowledge for effective case strategy.
Digital Mastery: Hands-on training in navigating the High Court's digital systems, including the “Case Status” portal, Neutral Citations, and e-filing protocols.
Courtroom Strategy: Intensive simulations like the Admission Hearing to build persuasive oral advocacy, alongside a focus on Filing Protocol and technical rules of the court.
Career Sustainability: Strategic guidance based on the “Golden Hour” concept from The Unwritten Conundrum, providing a professional playbook to ensure long-term success and growth in the profession.
We encourage all registered students of GLC, Ernakulam, to seize this unique and valuable opportunity to gain the practical, clinical competence necessary to launch a successful career as an Advocate.
