Breaking the Barrier: 'The Unwritten Conundrum' Launched Amidst Legal Titans at SCL India Conference

The Indian legal community witnessed a landmark event on December 5, 2025, at the SCL India 5th Biennial International Conference, in the Lalit, New Delhi, with the official release of the highly anticipated book: "The Unwritten Conundrum: Cracking an Implicit Code.

The launch, which took place amidst the nation's premier forum on construction law, transcended traditional academic releases to address a fundamental crisis in the profession: the "mortality rate" of first-generation lawyers.

Decoding the Implict Code

Authored by Adv. Johnson Gomez, the book is a direct response to the massive gap between academic knowledge and the unwritten realities of court practice—the "Implicit Code". This gap is responsible for the "Golden Hour" of the first two years, where countless talented, non-legacy young graduates simply fade away. The book aims to decode the implicit nuances of legal practice and the unwritten protocols of the High Court, which are usually learned only through years of trial and error. The author proudly stood alongside his co-authors, Naomi and Abhinav, at the launch. Their unique collaboration—a blend of seasoned experience and fresh perspective—was instrumental in mapping the actual workings of the High Court Registry and the Roster, forming the structural core of the book.

A Gathering of Legal Stalwarts

The significance of the book's mission was underscored by the presence of a distinguished assembly of judges and legal stalwarts, affirming the judiciary’s commitment to institutional mentorship. The official release ceremony was graced by:

  • The Hon'ble Attorney General for India, Mr. R. Venkataramani, who officially released the book.

  • Sr. Adv. Ratan K. Singh, Founder & Chairman of SCL India, who received the first copy.

The authors expressed their gratitude to other prominent figrues present including Justice Tejas karia, Justice AK Sikri(Former Judge, Supeme Court of India), and international experts like Bruce Reynolds, FCIArb.

A Legacy of Institutional Guardian Angels

Fittingly, a central inspiration for the book is the late legal luminary Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon. The work is a response to his final "clarion call" for the creation of "institutional guardian angels" for young lawyers. The presence of Mr. R. Venkataramani, one of Prof. Menon's most devoted students, made the launch a powerful tribute to this enduring legacy.

The book is far more than a technical guide; it is the inaugural publication of the Project Complete Lawyer (PCL) Foundation. It is not a commercial venture; every rupee of revenue generated is dedicated solely to reducing the challenging "incubation period" that stifles the next generation of law graduates. In launching 'The Unwritten Conundrum,' the PCL Foundation and Adv. Johnson Gomez are actively working to push open the intimidating gates of the High Court, ensuring the promise of the Indian legal profession remains accessible to all.

The book is now available in the amazon platform for sale.
